You'd have to call & ask the chef. They will let you know if you call.
The food was good. The service was not very good and the restaurant did not have a license to sell wine.
Good food, limited menu
Just don't, microwave ovens have NO place in a French restaurant. Had they not taken this short cut the food might have been ok.
excellent food, nice atmosphere. good service.
Amazing food and good atmosphere. Expensive but worth the price for a special occasion. Service was so-so, but overall an excellent experience.
Great decor, limited menu, $10-15/plate. Salads and crepes are great!
Had a fantastic experience in here with my son. The food was served quickly and the service is just awesome. Prices are affordable.
So it was in a sketchy area, looked runner down from the outside. The inside I was cute and had potinial. But there were dead flowers on the table. There were no drink choices only water...no coke or wine. Only water. Took about 15min to get a tiny loaf if dry bread. After 20min finally took our order. I asked what sides came with the meals and I quote "I don't know, whatever we have" took an hour to get our meal. And after we got it, it looked like grandmas old kitchen cooking nothing "French" about this place. It was unflavored with ore packaged meat and frozen veggies. I didn't even eat it all. Not inpreased and too pricy for such low quality.
I read some negative reviews of the restaurant but took a chance and was very pleased. New waitperson but so very friendly and eager to please. Soft warm bread, excellent goat cheese salad and our party of 6 had several difference entrees (fish, etc) and all were excellent. New ownership seems to be trying and I recommend Chez Axel
My husband and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant. Wow, were we ever disappointed!! The waiter was nice, but very awkward. He told us the new management didn't have a liquor license yet, but now I see other reviews from months ago saying a different story! Both of our dinners, the Beef Bourguignon (mine) & the Scallops, were terrible! Btw, Chez Axel, mine should NOT have been full of olives - check your recipes! My husband said the predominant flavor of his was olives too - in scallops?!? Flat out awful! Needless to say, we'll never go back.
The food and service is incredible, and the atmosphere is very intimate. One of the best fine dining experiences in Albuquerque.
Food was cold they forgot to make my son's food. The escargot was frozen and I think they were cooked in a microwave. The waiter was Chinese and didn't understand what we were saying. My son ordered a Pepsi and was brought a DP. I got tea and never got another glass after asking several times for a refill. Waited an hour for appetizers and another hour and a half for entree. Will not retun.
We enjoyed the food. It was very good.
Food was good, prices for lunch were reasonable, restaurant was clean. Pleasant, friendly waiter. My friend requested gluten free and was accommodated.
I like to go with friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is delicious and the team is very friendly and cooperative. always when we go to this place we have a gorgeous evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Best french food!!
The place was nice and quiet. The food was delicious, the Waiter was prompt an addressed my dinning needs
Delicious!!!!!
Not worth the $. Dessert was yuck!
This is a sweet little restaurant, quiet with smartly casually elegant decor and ambiance. I had their trout amandine, it was cooked to perfection with the balance of flavors spot on.
The food is superb. It is a very small place. They are waiting for beer and wine license still after over a year. If they could get this I'm sure there would be many more patrons.
Awesome French food! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is homey. For a great deal, go for lunch!
Highly recommended, excellent dishes, wines, music and hospitality. Five Star Quality
Good food, nice atmosphere, attentive waitress, and live piano. We had a wonderful meal and very enjoyable evening! Try it! We were very glad we did!
The restaurant had two people working, including the kitchen for a group of 16. Service was therefore painfully slow. Two at our table ordered the shrimp provencal. The shrimp was over-cooked and rubbery. The spinach crepe was bland. The quiche Lorraine unfortunately was generous in size. The ham in it tasted like sliced lunch meat ham. The quiche was thick like a bread, not quichelike in texture. They had melted a slice of mozzarella cheese over it. It did nothing to enhance the flavor. The french onion soup was hot and thick. That's all the positive comment I can make for the soup. They have wine bottles on the walls. Unfortunately, they don't serve wine. That might have helped the meal.Other than our group, there was one other couple in the restaurant. Our scout had been to the restaurant a few weeks earlier and liked the food then.I don't recommend taking a group here and we won't be back.
I had the lamb ribs and my friend had the salmon. Both were okay. I've had better and I've also had worse. Prices are moderate. The lamb was 24 bucks and it came with potatoes and green beans. The salmon was in the 20s as well and came with rice and green beans. The service was good. They do not serve alcohol here. We had someone playing a piano live music when we were there. Very nice
enjoy the foods and music !!
Well, I could finally convince my wife to give Chez Axel a try. From the outside this place doesn't look like much, but once you step in WOHOO. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays your dinner experience will be accompanied with live classical piano music. Regarding their food, I can only say that I haven't found a place in Albuquerque that offers better french country cuisine. If you know Le Cafe Miche (and like it), give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!
Nice atmosphere. Onion soup and shrimp flambe highly recommended.
The food was good but I think I got served someone else's order of trout and I ordered the sea bass. So I will never know cuz I won't be back.
You always have a great dish for our palates !!
The food was delicious and the people were friendly. All the dishes are fantastic, you really can't go wrong. The desserts are amazing too. Can't wait to go back.
Not french atmosphere. French onion soup had tomatoes in it.Bread was cold.Red snapper was frozen not fresh. No wine.Need I say more...
The best French food I've ever had! The atmosphere was intimate, with darker lighting. The waiter Fred is very friendly and helpful..Live piano is wonderful..There were so many good choices on the menu, and not to mention several tantalizing specials as well.. We were impressed.
worth every penny
Wonderful.
The plate was the porion of a TV dinner, way overpriced. The desert was supposed to be a pastry puff,it was a raw piece of old dough. Will never return
I had friend visiting from Boston. I had not been to this place in three years. What an embarrassment. NO ONE was there. We were the only table all evening. The food was overpriced and, not very good. The bread was stale, little slivers of bread, the onion soup was seasoned too much, tasted old, my companion said, the trout flavorless and dry. I had bragged about Chez Axel, from the Airport. It was not a very Happy, New Mexico welcome.
Good quiche
